For Immediate Release
Continuing to set new standards of professionalism, 108 remodeling companies
from 35 states were honored at the seventh annual Chrysalis Awards for
Remodeling Excellence. The awards, sponsored by Lowe's Companies
and Professional Remodeler magazine, were presented at the Southern Building
Show in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Judged by the staff of Southern Living magazine, Sunset magazine, and
Homestyles.com, the winners were selected from over 600 entries in over 30
categories covering all aspects of remodeling. The entries were judged on overall
design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the
project enhanced the original structure.
Recently, Gerry Dunleavy of Dunleavy Construction in Winchester,
Massachusetts took home the top award for Best Room Addition Over $100,000.
"The room addition categories are always hotly contested,” says Ken Kanline,
Chrysalis Director, "which makes this award especially significant."
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, consists of five regional
remodeling competitions, and recognizes quality work in all types of projects
and price ranges in the South, Southwest, West, Midwest, and Northeast.
Lowe's Companies has been a sponsor of the awards since their inception.
"Working with thousands of contractors, we see the tremendous work that is
being done by professional remodelers,” says Lowe's Vice President Mike
Brown. "By showcasing the 'best of the best', the Chrysalis Awards help increase
quality and professionalism throughout the industry.”
